Frequently asked questions
Are the passwords generated securely?
Yes — they use the browser's crypto.getRandomValues, the same cryptographically secure random source used for encryption keys. No password is ever sent over a network.
What password length should I use?
16 characters is a strong default for most accounts. Use 20 or more for email, banking and other important accounts, and enable two-factor authentication wherever possible.
What does “exclude ambiguous characters” do?
It removes look-alike characters such as O and 0, or l and 1, so the password is easier to read and type without mistakes.
