How is reading time calculated?
Reading time divides your word count by 200 words per minute — the widely used average adult silent-reading speed. Speaking time uses 130 wpm, a comfortable presentation pace.
How are sentences and paragraphs counted?
Sentences are split on ., ! and ? characters, and paragraphs on blank lines — so formatting like headings and lists is counted sensibly.
Is my text uploaded?
Never. Everything is counted locally in your browser; you can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads.
