Frequently asked questions
Do special characters need escaping?
No. With regular expression mode off the find text is matched literally, so symbols like . or * are searched as ordinary characters.
How do I use capture groups?
Turn regular expression mode on and reference groups with $1, $2 and so on in the replace field — matching is global across the whole text.
Does matching respect capital letters?
Only when case sensitive is ticked. Leave it off and the search ignores case, so Example, example and EXAMPLE are all replaced.
