Frequently asked questions

How much home loan can I get?

Banks usually allow total EMIs of up to 50% of your monthly net income, known as the FOIR. Subtract your existing EMIs from that limit and the balance can be repaid as a home loan EMI.

What is FOIR?

Fixed Obligation to Income Ratio is the share of your monthly income that goes towards all loan EMIs. Lenders typically accept a FOIR of 40% to 55% depending on your income and credit profile.

Does a higher tenure increase my eligibility?

Yes. Stretching the tenure lowers the EMI for the same loan amount, so you can borrow more for the same FOIR. However, a longer tenure means you pay more interest overall.
