Frequently asked questions

What is in-hand salary?

In-hand, or take-home, salary is the amount credited to your bank account every month after deducting employee EPF, professional tax and income tax (TDS) from your gross salary.

Why is my in-hand salary less than my CTC?

CTC includes the employer's PF contribution, gratuity and other benefits on top of your gross pay, while in-hand salary is what remains after your own EPF, professional tax and income tax are deducted.

Is this in-hand salary estimate accurate?

It is an estimate. Actual figures depend on your employer's salary structure, city-specific professional tax, the exemptions you claim and the tax regime you choose.
