Frequently asked questions
What size should my source image be?
At least 512 by 512 pixels and square, so the largest icon is crisp. Non-square images are centre-cropped to a square automatically.
Do I need every size?
16 and 32 px cover browser tabs and bookmarks, 180 px is the Apple touch icon, and 192 and 512 px are used by Android and web app manifests.
Where do I put the files?
Upload the PNGs to the root of your website so the paths in the copied snippet, such as /favicon-32x32.png, resolve correctly.
